The Canoe & Kayak Rodney Coast Challenge (RCC) is a multi-sport event run by the Kaukapakapa Scout group as a fund raiser consisting of a 10km forest run, 30km road cycle, 24km mountain bike, 8km kayak, and a 150m run to the finish

The event is run at the end of October or beginning of November every year and attracts 500+ participants from the Auckland area and from around New Zealand

The profits from this event go towards purchasing new equipment, hiring facilities and other activities for the Kaukapakapa Scout group

Last year's race attracted 393 participants. This year we hope to break 600


The Canoe & Kayak Rodney Coast Challenge course starts with the 10km Forest Run, from the beach to Rimmer Rd

The 30km road cycle heads out from Rimmer Rd. on to S.H. 16 through Helensville and Kaukapakapa

The 24km mountain bike stage heads up the Makarau Valley onto Tohekeroa Rd., right into Upper Waiwera then on to Noakes Hill. Right into Krippner Rd. and the descent into Puhoi

The Kayak stage is 8km down the Puhoi River starting at the back of the Puhoi Park and finishing at Wenderholm Regional Park, with a 150m sprint to the finish
