The Spring Challenge is an all women's team adventure race. It is aimed at adventurous women of all abilities with the aims being for women to enjoy the outdoors, to embrace challenge and the earn rewards that follow an 'Adventure'. It is also a great social weekend in a wonderful location.

Event Details
The Spring Challenge is an all women's team adventure race. It is aimed at adventurous women of all abilities with the aims being for women to enjoy the outdoors, to embrace challenge and the earn rewards that follow an 'Adventure'. It is also a great social weekend in a wonderful location.
There will be a 3, 6 hour and 12 hour event.
3 hour event = winning time aimed at 3 hours (slowest time less than 6 hours)
6 hour event = winning time aimed at 6 hours (slowest time less than 12 hours)
12 hour event = winning time aimed at 12 hours (slowest time less than 24 hours)
All teams must be 3 women
Teams must travel together for the entire race
There will be some entry level navigation decisions to be made - there will be a navigation instructor at race briefing who can give teams help should they want it.
The Course
Very little can be said about the course.
The course information will be made available at the race briefing the night before. Until then the course is secret.
The 3-hour race will likely include 1 raft section, 1 bike section and 1 hike section. The navigation will be beginner level. The mountain biking is non technical.
The 6 hour race will most likely include 1 raft section, 2 bike and 2 hike stages. The navigation will be intermediate level.
The 12 hour race will most likely have 1 raft section, 3 bike and 3 hike stages. The navigation in the 12 hour hike and bike legs will be intermediate to advanced.
Who can do it?
Any females 16-years old and over. (13-15 year olds can enter by special arrangement)
3 hour - Anyone! as long as you can ride a bike on a gravel road.
6 hour - Most women who are moderately active could do the 6 hour event with some preparation. If you can hike in the hills for a day trip then you will have the base fitness for this event. It is aimed to be a challenge, but one that can be enjoyed. Rest breaks and food/drinks stops are factored into the event times. The mountain biking is non technical where possible.
12 hour - If you have done the Coast to Coast, ran a marathon or other adventure races, this event is for you.
